I have been playing Magic: The Gathering since 1994 and have won a few draft tournaments in MTGO and MTG Arena.
Ravnica has some quality uncommons that have mechanics such as Convoke, Transmute, and Dredge. These mechanics enhance your arsenal and give you more gameplay options.
Vigor Mortis is a black sorcery that costs two colorless and two black mana.
It returns a target creature from your graveyard back into play.
If you used at least one green mana to pay for Vigor Mortis, the creature comes with an plus one power and plus one toughness counter on it.
This card can be used to resurrect your gigantic creatures and cheat them into play.
Remand is a blue instant that costs one colorless and one blue mana.
Remand counters a target spell and returns it to its owners hand.
You then draw a card afterwards.
This card is an excellent counterspell as it only costs one blue rather than two blue and this provides plenty of flexibility.
It also replaces itself since you draw a card.
Telling Time is a blue instant that costs one colorless and one blue mana.
The spell enables you to look at the top three cards in your library. You place one card on your hand, one on top of your library and one at the bottom of your library.
The card is a version of Brainstorm. Instead of placing both cards you don't place in your hand on top of your library, you place one card on top of your library and the other at the bottom.
Carven Caryatid is a green creature that costs one colorless and two green mana.
It has two power and five toughness and has defender.
When it comes into play, you draw a card.
This card is a bigger Wall of Blossoms. While the Wall of Blossoms has zero power and four toughness, Carven Caryatid has two power and five toughness.
Moldervine Cloak is a green enchantment that costs two colorless and one green mana.
Moldervine Cloak boosts a creature with an additional three power and three toughness.
It can also be dredged. You can mill two cards from your library and skip drawing a card to bring this back from the graveyard to your hand.
This cards serves a dual purpose of strengthening your creatures and also filling upo your graveyard.
Recollect is a green sorcery that costs two colorless and one green mana.
It returns a target card from your graveyard to your hand.
This is a more expensive version of the classic card Regrowth which does the exact same thing for one less mana.
Frenzied Goblin is a red creature that costs one red mana.
It has one power and one toughness.
When Frenzied Goblin attacks, you can pay one red mana to have a target creature lose the ability to block until end of turn.
This is a nice combat trick and will render your opponent's blockers useless.
Bathe in Light
Bathe in Light is a white instant that costs one colorless and one white mana.
This spell grants protection of a color of your choice to a target creature of your choosing.
It also has "radiance" which grants the same benefit to other creatures that share the same color.
This card is an excellent spell to protect your creatures from a mass damage spell such as Earthquake or to mount a final attack and make your creatures unblockable.
Devouring Light is a white instant that costs one colorless and two white mana.
It exiles an attacking or blocking creature.
It also has convoke where you can tap a creature to reduce one colorless or one mana of the creatures color.
Devouring is an excellent removal spell as it is an instant and exiles creatures instead of merely putting them in the graveyard where your opponent can easily resurrect them.
Suppression Field is a white enchantment that costs one colorless and one white mana.
It makes all activated abilities cost two colorless mana more to play unless they are mana abilities.
Suppression field is a great way to suppress such threats such as planeswalkers and man-lands.
Boros Swiftblade is a red and white creature which costs one red and one white mana.
It has one power and two toughness.
It also has double strike which means this creature deals both first-strike and regular combat damage.
Boros Swiftblade may not be that powerful on its own but can become deadly one equipped with equipment such as Loxodon Warhammer or buffed up with instants like Brute Force.
Lightning Helix is a red and white instant that costs one red and one white mana.
It deals three damage to any target and you gain three life.
It is essentially Lightning Bolt and Healing Salve fused into one. The difference is that you are not able to prevent damage to your creatures.
Lightning Helix is a tournament staple as it is very efficient and is essentially two cards in one.
Congregation at Dawn
Congregation at Dawn is a green and white instant that costs two green and one white mana.
It lets you search for up to three creature cards, you reveal them to your opponent and then shuffle your library and place the three creature cards on top of your library in any order.
Congregation at Dawn is essentially Worldly Tutor times three. It lets you setup your library for the next few turns essentially.
Watchwolf is a green and white creature that costs one green and one white mana.
It has three power and three toughness and no abilities.
A three power and three toughness creature is not too bad as you get more than what you pay for.
Selesnya Guildmage is a hybrid card which costs two of any combination of white or green mana.
It has two power and two toughness and has two activated abilities.
The first ability costs three colorless and one green mana. You are able to generate a Saproling token with one power and one toughness.
The second ability costs three colorless and one white mana. All creatures you control get a boost of one power and one toughness until end of turn.
This card is perfect for the Selesnya Guild as it allows you to create a lot of token creatures as well as boost the token creatures you generate.
Putrefy is a black and green instant that costs one colorless, one black and one green mana.
Putrefy destroys a target creature or artifact and the target cannot be regenerated.
This is an extremely flexible card and can target two permanent types. This has been a staple in the tournament scene because of its versatility.
Clutch of the Undercity
Clutch of the Undercity is a blue and black instant that costs one colorless, two blue and one black mana.
It returns a target permanent back to its owner's hand and the permanent's controller loses three life.
It also has a transmute cost of one colorless, one blue and one black mana. This enables you to tutor / search for a spell that has a converted mana cost of four mana.
This is yet another two for one card. This essentially combines Boomerang and a Bump in Night.
Dimir Guildmage is a hybrid card which costs two of any combination of blue or black mana.
It has two power and two toughness and has two activated abilities.
The first ability costs three colorless and one blue mana. You are able to have target player draw a card at any time you can play a sorcery.
The second ability costs three colorless and one black mana. You are able to have target player discard a card at any time you can play a sorcery.
This card is perfect for the Dimir Guild as it allows you to create tremendous card advantage by drawing cards on your end while having your opponent discard cards on the other end.
Vitu-Ghazi, the City Tree
Vitu-Ghazi, the City Tree is a non-basic land card.
Its first ability is to produce one colorless mana
Its second ability is to produce a one power and one toughness Saproling token. You need to pay two colorless, one green and one white mana and tap Vitu-Ghazi, the City Tree.
This is a nice token generator as it cannot be countered. It is perfect for the Selesnya guild.
