House Brobnar in Keyforge
Keyforge decks can't be altered once bought; the three houses within and the cards they contain are what you get. But that also means that once you buy a deck, you're ready to play and don't need to worry about upgrades.
The factions are also relatively well-balanced, some focusing on production or defense, others on creatures and combat—like Brobnar. Symbolized by red fire, Brobs are a group of aggressive warriors that specialize in controlling the board by constant attacks on enemy lines—these are the ten best Brobnar cards in Keyforge!
10. Banner of Battle
Banner simply gives all your creatures (whether Brobnar or not) a +1 power boost. Remember, in Keyforge, power is both a unit's attack and health, so any bonus to your troops grants a fierce advantage.
9. Berserker Slam
Cards like Slam that generate aember (as shown by the orange gem in the upper-left card corner) definitely helps Brobnar, since they don't have many cards that make or steal the resource.
Slam deals four damage to a flank creature (one on either end of the battleline), and if Slam defeats it, your opponent loses an aember. This won't kill every enemy, but at its peak, you score a removal while effectively stealing a resource.
8. Lava Ball/Pound
These two cards work the same, except Pound is weaker but generates an aember. But both offer useful spread damage; Lava hits a creature for four and splashes two onto its neighbors, while Pound hits for two while splashing one. Timed right, these are formidable tools that can eliminate multiple threats.
Brammo has respectable four power plus one armor (reducing the damage he takes each turn by one). Plus, he has a useful ability when played, hitting each enemy flank for two damage.
This makes Brammo both an immediate removal plus an ongoing threat, a welcome sight in any game.
6. Kelifi Dragon
This card's either the best creature in the game or worthless based on whether you can play it, which requires having at least seven aember. Like any creature, Kelifi has to wait a turn before fighting or reaping, but not only does it wield an unholy 12 power, it gains an aember and deals five damage to a creature whenever it fights or reaps!
5. First Blood
Thanks to the alpha trait, if you're gonna play First Blood, it has to be the first card of your turn. Fortunately, it's a great one after already filling your board with Brobnar allies, dealing two damage split among any targets for each friendly Brobnar. Throw in an aember and you've got a devastating punishment for foes who leave your board state intact.
4. Mega Cowfyne
Simply having seven power with no downside already makes Mega Cowfyne worthwhile, and his fantastic "before fight" effect deals two splash damage to each neighbor of the creature it battles. And since the effect triggers upon attacking and being attacked, Cowfyne's great at both offense and defense.
Eight power is great, and Troll will continuously keep his health up by healing three damage when he reaps. So rotate between fighting and reaping to dwindle enemy lines while restoring health and gaining aember.
2. Sound the Horns
Sound the Horns discards cards from your deck until it runs out or you find a Brobnar creature, which is added to your hand. So unless there aren't any Brobs left, this basically gives a free aember while replacing itself in hand. Filling your graveyard can also be useful for other factions, and in Keyforge, you don't need to worry about a deck-out loss; you can reshuffle your discard pile as into your deck when it runs out.
Mugwump is the gift that keeps giving. Six power is already strong, but when Mugwump defeats an enemy, he fully heals and gets a +1 power counter, gradually gaining even more strength.
This means opponents can't defeat Mugwump by teaming up weaker creatures against him (when he kills one, he'll simply heal), practically demanding an opposing action card to remove.
Partner Houses for Brobnar
You can't edit decks in Keyforge, so try not to overly stress about which houses you partner Brobnar with. Still, since it has fighting covered, pair with factions that emphasize card advantage or aember production/stealing (like Logos and Shadows)
Note that not every expansion contains house Brobnar; look for it in the first sets (like Age of Ascension), but for now, vote for your favorite card and I'll see you at our next Keyforge faction countdown!
