Paige is a writer, doll collector, and American Girl enthusiast.
In 1991, American Girl produced their fourth Historical Character doll, Felicity Merriman. She was the first new doll to be sold after the release of the three original Historical dolls in 1986. Felicity’s story takes place from 1774 to 1776 in Williamsburg, Virginia. Her books explain what life was like for Americans during the pre-Revolutionary War period and later the beginning years of this war.
She was originally active from 1991 to 2011, and then from 2017 to 2019. She was also sold as a 35th Anniversary Doll for a limited amount of time in 2021.
About This Collector’s Guide
It can be difficult to locate items from Felicity’s collection for many reasons.
- First, the entirety of her collection is currently in retirement, so all of her outfits and accessories can only be bought secondhand.
- Moreover, since she has been retired twice, has had three different Meet Outfits, and is one of the most popular Historical dolls, not only is her collection vast and in high demand, but many of her clothing items are very rare.
- Finally, Felicity’s elaborate colonial dresses usually come in many pieces, so the used outfits from her collection that are sold online are often incomplete.
This collector’s guide will list and describe all of Felicity’s outfits and her Meet Accessories. I have already made a similar guide for Kaya’s Collection, and I plan on eventually making them for all the Historical American Girl dolls.
