Bored? Looking for a good manhwa to kill time? Then, you might want to take a look at these manhwa recommendations. Perhaps, you will find the one that suits your taste?

1. Lookism

Lookism has an interesting plot with a good amount of humor and drama! It’s a manhwa about an overweight boy named Park Hyung Suk who turned handsome overnight with a little twist. Since then, his life has never been the same. Along the way, he will learn more about life through his new experiences. You will be introduced to lots of interesting characters as well. This manhwa addresses topics such as bullying, stereotypes, and discrimination. It’s definitely worth your time!

2. Dr. Frost

This manhwa by Jongbeom Lee is similar to Sherlock Holmes or Kuroshitsuji. It’s about an emotionless psychologist who instead of solving crimes like Sherlock Holmes, solves people’s life problems. The underlying problems in their lives are always related to psychology. The emotionless psychologist is none other than Dr. Frost who solves case after case with the company of his assistant, Yoon and his dog, Pavlov. You’ll not only be able to read about the cases, but watch Dr. Frost develop into a better individual as he solves them. You’ll also be intrigued and educated by the psychology terms that appear in the story as well! It’s an interesting read, especially if you like mysteries or if you're interested in psychology. Perhaps, after reading it, you will be interested in studying psychology?

3. Bastard

Ever imagine having a psychopath as your father? Even in your wildest dreams, you wouldn’t want one as your father. You’re in for one heck of a ride if you decide to read Bastard by Youngchan Hwang. But don’t worry, the ride will be a memorable one, so why not consider it? You’ll feel scared, nervous, happy, and a lot more when you read it. As you read, you’ll begin to doubt yourself and question a lot of what comes up. You will eventually doubt everyone and find yourself second-guessing many things. The plot twist in Bastard is just amazing and you’ll feel the creepiness. That’s what a good thriller manhwa is supposed to do! If you end up wondering who the real killer is in this story, you might have to find out for yourself.

4. UnTOUCHable

As the title says, the male protagonist, Jiho, is untouchable. Jiho has mysophobia, hence the reason why he is untouchable. But the thing is Sia Lee needs to touch him. You see, she is a modern vampire who absorbs energy through physical touches. Of course she could have lived by touching other people, but who can pass up a delicious human like Jiho? Watch Sia Lee’s hilarious struggles to make Jiho open up to her. Will she succeed? Find out yourself! You can read it on Webtoon. It’s a manhwa by massstar. He/she certainly has done a great job in blending romance, humor, and drama.

5. Oh! Holy!

Oh! Holy! By Ahyun has an interesting stock of characters. The characters such as Holy and Jamie are very unique and the plot is just as interesting. Holy is the beautiful school idol while Jamie is the loner, but if you think it’s a typical love story, you’re wrong! Holy is not the stereotypical stuck-up or overly kind character you will find in lots of movies. You’ll just have to see for yourself how the manhwa is written. While Oh! Holy! has a theme most people would find scary, it’s done in a very humorous way that actually won't scare readers. In fact, you’ll probably smile and laugh through the story.

6. Super Secret

Super Secret by eon will make you squeal because of its cuteness! It’s a manhwa with fantasy, humor, and romance. So, the boy next door is a werewolf. It’s definitely a super secret, right? You wouldn’t want anyone finding out you were a werewolf if you were him. I recommend this if you like stories with a combination of humor, fantasy, and romance!

7. For The Sake of Sita

For The Sake of Sita by Haga is a brilliant story you won't be able to forget. It’s about a medical student from Korea who falls in love with the former Kumari. It’s about second chances and sacrificing yourself for the ones you love. It’s full of angst that's portrayed in an appealing way and you will feel like crying at the end. A good angst-ridden story is supposed to make you feel flooded with strong emotions! Other than the story, you’ll be able to learn about other countries’ cultures through this manhwa in a fun way. So, consider reading For The Sake of Sita.

8. Westwood Vibrato

This is similar to Dr. Frost in a way except it’s with music. Instead of solving cases, the main character, Cornelia, fixes broken music instruments. There are stories behind all of the music instruments. There’s more to music instruments than you think. After all, music is able to express feelings—feelings you wouldn’t be able to express through mere words. The story is set in South Africa and you’ll learn a lot about important matters such as slavery, wars, and other topics. You’ll be introduced to the main character’s backstory as well. Oh, and the art is captivating! Westwood Vibrato by Inwan Youn and Sunhee Kim is a heartwarming manhwa that is worth reading. Don’t miss out on this beautifully told manhwa or you’ll regret it.

9. Spirit Fingers

Spirit Fingers by kyoungchal Han is a manhwa that falls under the category of humor, romance and drama. It’s the perfect slice-of-life story if you are looking for something light to read. Wooyeon thinks she is just an ordinary girl and she's insecure until she joins a drawing club called Spirit Fingers! Through the club, Wooyeon begins to find her own confidence and perhaps, a romance? What I like about this story is the main character’s development. Wooyeon is not a type of damsel-in-distress character who needs a man to reassure her about her insecurities. She is the kind of a girl everyone should aspire to be. This manhwa teaches readers to embrace themselves and their weirdness.

10. Annarasumanara

Annarasumanara is the kind of manhwa that tugs at your heartstrings. It’s a manhwa by Ilkwon Ha about a high school student named Yoon Ah-ee who’s broke and in debt. She tries to support herself and her sister through part time jobs. Then, she meets a magician in an abandoned theme park. After that meeting her life was never the same. This story is told with vignettes and simple plot, but it’s also told in an enchanting way that will leave a deep impression you. It’s a profound story about life and you will learn a lot from this manhwa. The art is done in an avant-garde black and white style that will capture your heart. Read it and you won’t regret it. Oh, and you might start believing in magic as well!

      Just a short comment,

Annarasumanara is so simple yet so beautiful. The author finds a way to represent everything differently and you will learn many lessons. I highly recommend Annarasumanara.

      So beautiful

Thanks for reading as well! The others are mostly dominated by romance, I'm not sure if it's your cup of tea. Since you seem to like thriller and mystery, I'd recommend Dr. Frost. Lookism is good too. Oh, and Westwood Vibrato! It's not really thriller and mystery but it talks about some important stuff like the wars.

Oh wow, I just checked out Lezhin and it seems like a really good. It features manhwa I've never seen too - I mostly read from Webtoon and I didn't know about Lezhin. I'm very glad you told me because I'm into dark stuff like murders and stuff haha. There's not much on Webtoon. Thank you for telling me.

Thanks for the awesome list! I've heard of some of these before, like Bastard, but I'll have to give the others a try too.

If you like Manhwa, you should definitely check out Lezhin. They have a ton of manhwa to choose from and a lot of different genres as well. They also update different manhwa daily, and they're partnered with the artists of each series, so by reading through Lezhin, you're supporting the artists! They definitely have a lot of darker titles, similar to the feel of Bastard, so I would recommend starting with those first.

I would love to see a future post ranking Lezhin Manhwa, especially since it seems like we have similar tastes.

Hahahaha, I'm not sure what's funny though. Is it the title? Lol. Care to make one joke so I understand?

Exactly right. Like, he is not biased and he is able to think clearly. It's a good manhwa!

Bastard! Hahahaha! That's funny. I can make so many jokes about that.

Dr. Frost seems like it'd be real deep. It doesn't surpise me that an emotionless guy could tell you what's wrong with you. I'd think it'd be easier for an emotionless guy to look at someone's life objectively.
